Eclipse and Subclipse operate on caches. If you make changes outside of
Eclipse you generally just need to do a Refresh of the project within
Eclipse and it should fix everything. If it doesn't your workaround would
generally work. If you did do a commit there is no chance of it doing the
wrong thing. The Subversion stuff is all handled by the adapters and those
work off the filesystem, not the cache.
