Oh come on. You're overreacting.

The fact that you started this discussion (and perhaps your written
code helped drive it a bit) is at least not a waste of time. But you
need to also *allow* discussion, otherwise this is all indeed an
exercise in futility.

In general though I don't think it's a good idea to spend the effort
of writing some code before you've bounced off your idea with the
community. You might end up wasting your time and energy for something
that maybe isn't such a good idea after all (or something for which
you cannot find consensus in the community, which means you won't get
it in there).

What knuckly-dragging? What "insulting me further"? If you consider my
mail insulting, djeez ... I don't know what to say. Pffff, go ahead
and scare everyone away from a meaningful discussion if you like that.
