svnsync methodology question

Hi, I asked this question on the users list a few days ago but got no
responses, so trying here.

One thing I'll add here is that the implied methodology below is
something we already have working with Perforce and P4JREP/P4PROXY. It
would be great to get this flushed out with Subversion also.

--------------

hi, we'd like to use svnsync for read-only operations such as svn
status, svn log, svn ls, svn info etc at our remote sites, and have
the write operations (svn commit etc) go to the main repository at the
parent office. whats the best way to achieve this?

a couple of points:

1) we'd like users to keep only 1 working copy

2) i know there is a "write-through" methodology with svnsync in 1.5
but my understanding is that this only works with http:// access. we'd
prefer to use svn:// since http:// is somewhat slow.

TIA!
