SVN_ASP_DOT_NET_HACK environment variable

I am looking at this for Subclipse as we have had users ask for it
(hopefully someone plans on doing whatever is needed in JavaHL).

I have read this document:

http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/notes/asp-dot-net-hack.txt

It is not clear to me whether you simply check for the presence of this
variable, and then switch to a value of _svn, or whether the environment
variable contains a value of _svn or whatever value you want to use for
the directory name, and could therefore be any value, even "CVS".

Could someone update the doc to clarify this?
