I have skimmed the two sample chapters available for free.

There is some useful explanation there, but much of the condent is
already covered in the svnbook.

Furthermore, this paragraph...

you might like to know that those in the know do /not/ pronounce it as a single
word, with the accent on the "ver." Instead they say is as if it were
two words /Sub

Firstly, being a committer, I would consider myself "in the know", but
I pronounce it "Subversion", and think "Sub version" sounds
unnaturally awkward.
