I have skimmed the two sample chapters available for free.

There is some useful explanation there, but much of the condent is
already covered in the svnbook.

Furthermore, this paragraph...

[[[
If you find yourself in a live discussion which touches on Subversion
you might like to know that those in the know do /not/ pronounce it as a single
word, with the accent on the "ver." Instead they say is as if it were
two words /Sub
version./ Pronounce it as they do and your standing automatically improves.
]]]

... makes me instantly dislike the book.

Firstly, being a committer, I would consider myself "in the know", but
I pronounce it "Subversion", and think "Sub version" sounds
unnaturally awkward.

Secondly, I'd like to think that at least a fair proportion of those
"in the know" are not so shallow as to pre-judge someone by their
pronunciation.

So I am disinclined to add this book to our links page.

Max.
