That's a private list and I'm not comfortable conducting releases in private.
Creating a release is a community thing - as such, I feel this needs to occur
openly.

Also, an additional piece of information that a user can use to decide whether
to 'like' a release is the public votes (and sigs) on dev@svn. This way the
sigs don't just appear out of the blue. -- justin
