Shall I just watch for a log message saying they're fixed, then
install the hook? (After testing it, of course, which will be easy
because I'll have both the old and the new data.)

Whups. I'll put Nicolás Lichtmaier <nick@reloco.com.ar> in COMMITTERS
Though note that any committer could -- it's the granting of the
access that requires the careful deliberations in the smoke-filled
room, not whatever administrivia follows the granting :-).
