I must not understand how RSS works.
I'm only objecting to putting something in our tree that (might not)
need to live there. If we can support whatever features RSS consumers
want without doing that, that's great. If we need to put something in
our tree to support RSS, then it would be nice if someone could
explain why that's necessary, as it seems counterintuitive to me.
