I still don't read those words the same way as you do ;-) Perhaps because I
don't have to worry as much about all the feature-requests for SVN, and
perhaps because I can understand his expectation quite well.

I took what he said:

    "...is something I'd expect from a production-quality versioning

as a coersion for putting this feature in Subversion. You don't have X.
All good VC systems have X. If you want to consider yourself a good VC
system, then you need to have X, otherwise, you apparently don't want to
be a good VC system.

That's what I get for answering email before drinking my coffee in the
morning. :)

But on top of that, I'm getting to be more and more cranky about new
proposed 'features' for Subversion before we hit 1.0, before or after
I've had my coffee.
