I thought that you wanted to remove the command to list the unused BDB
logs. While trying to understand how I got you upset I read your mail
several times more. My guess is that you only wanted to remove the
command to list *all* BDB logs. See below.

[ BTW, tar does have bzip2 support. Check out the -j option. :-) ]

Oops, I see that now. If your plan is to keep the command to list the
unused logs, but replace hot-backup.py with a built-in copy command to
get rid of the command to list all logs, I have no objections whatsoever.
