Taken from the word list in the O'Reilly Style Guide, it lists the following:

  filename
  file manager
  file server
  filesystem
  file type

Ultimately in the end, the editor assigned this will make the appropriate edits
to make it conform to their standard. I figure might as well make their job a
little more easy.

Again, taken from the word list:

  cannot or can't (not "can not")

In any case, the book has it mixed both ways. Converting it to this was also
less work.
