I like them :-) But what you say make sense, so I let it be as it is now.

I haven't checked with notepad lately (2-4 months), svn believed that
nothing was commited (or had an error message) when I used it . I will
check again in the diffrent Windows's. My motivation for defaulting to
edit (wich I do not like - I use Vim) is that everything is inside the
console when I work on Subversion and that the svn usage for an editor
is simple.
Well, I do it this way: -If no editor_cmd is found, then the user can
pick up an editor with the file open box or just continue if the user
doesn't want an editor.
