solaris build error, neon subdir necessary, v 14.1

it seems that if no neon link/dir exists in svn directory, make fails
with:
  link: cannot find the library `/src/svn/neon/src/libneon.la'
  --> should: /local/lib/libneon.la

options
./configure --prefix=/local --with-berkeley-db=/local
--with-apxs=/local/bin/apxs --with-apr=/local --with-apr-util=/local
--with-neon=/local --disable-static
