Hmmm, yeah. You guys have a point -- I wouldn't want to wade through
those logs either! :-)

We haven't really "activated" the users list yet, thinking it better
to keep all discussion focused here so everyone can see everything.
We're afraid of ghetto-izing various parts of the community (e.g.,
developers from users, repos admins from client-only users, etc).

But you could take a poll here.

And if you are taking a poll, tally me as neutral. I like the
simplicity of my original proposal, but the spurious revisions thing
really is a bit of a problem. The CGI and pre-commit hook solution
has some advantages too.
