today, it's not a real problem for me.

But it can be a user problem, a source of confusion when it can be
possible to browse a local repository with Nautilus, or Mozilla, ...
or when it can be possible to use Subversion within a multi-purpose IDE
(any tools/programs that already understand "file://" and want to use a
local subversion repository). In this case, a user need to deal with two
URL (file:// and svn:// or whatever.).

My worry, is that a switch form file:// to something:// (if necessary)
should cause more trouble in release 2.0 or 3.0 than in alpha stage
(documentation, script, habits).

I know that is not "really" necessary for the courant 0.14 release of
Subversion and probably for the 1.0 release.
