Hi,
Having hopefully removed my foot from my mouth somewhat (don't know why my
brain didn't inform me that tone of voice doesn't carry across email when I
was writing my first post) I thought I'd better introduce myself properly.
I'm a university student at the University of British Columbia in
Vancouver, BC, Canada. I am working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
Technical Theatre (not acting, all the technical stuff) with a minor in
computer science. My main interest is in control systems and multimedia
technology in theatre and my current programming project is a linux-based
lighting controller for theatre use. I'm also following the this project
and the Jabber project and do Web design in my spare time.
I use CVS for pretty much every project I work on and am as aware of its
flaws as I'm sure you all are. A friend of mine stumbled across this
project about a month ago and we are quite excited about it.
Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to begin studying the inner workings
of this project but I am hoping that I will be able to play around with it
once you reach Milestone 2 and get a feel for the details. At that point I
hope to have some time to start contributing something - whether to the
client or somewhere else.
Hmm... that's all I think. I look forward to working with you.
Oh, and I'm usually not a Microsoft-hating jerk, even though that's how I
came across. Talk about first impressions... <g>
