Welcome to the list, Julian. We've been making a few changes to
svn-design.{pdf,ps,texi} lately that should help newcomers a lot in
understanding the project. And we should be finishing up those
changes by this weekend. Anyway, start with that doc, especially the
section on `Deltas', and then post questions here.
