Actually a feature in at least one GUI client:
http://tortoisesvn.net/docs/release/TortoiseSVN_en/tsvn-dug-settings.html#tsvn-dug-settings-dialogs
Otherwise it's rather platform specific to implement, and may be better suited for integrated clients.
