Does that group have an email address accessible to the outside world?
Can you send from that address?
Not sure how the Tigris mailing list manager works but with some, if
you send "subscribe <address>" to the subscribe email address, it'll
register.
Or you could create a rule in your mailbox which forwards to your
internal group automatically.
