409 error when trying to commit a large number of files into subversion 1.6

Hello

When i try to commit a large amount of files under a subversion repository,
i, sometimes, notice that the commit is not done.

when observing the apache webserver log, i get this error : Could not MERGE
resource "/svn/test-commit/!svn/act/01fc2943-ba91-4e43-90ea-f09a959c5b55"
into "/svn/test-commit/branches". [409, #0]

I don't understand what does it mean.
