You'll have to provide more detail. What server process are you using
-- svnserve or apache? Is it running? Can you connect to that server
process from the local machine? (You said "The local machine can see
the repository" but you didn't say whether that was via the server
process or via the file:/// protocol which doesn't require or use a
server process.)
What version of Subversion and the other components is this?
