Is this seriously the best way to do this on a live system? There is no advice for running the subversion installs in parallel briefly? Under this approach if it doesn't go smoothly the system is down for an unknown amount of time. This is hardly acceptable?
Although backing up and restoring a system is *possible* i would hardly say it was *easy* to implement - especially when you consider that the server is locked away about 3 floors down with no physical access.
