Ok. Maybe someone more familiar with the Subversion source code will
already know what to do about this error.

You didn't indicate whether you encountered the error only once or
multiple times, or whether you tried 1.6.2, but I recommend you
upgrade to 1.6.2 anyway since it is the latest version and may fix
bugs you might run into with 1.6.1.
