Just to be clear, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop does contain the
subversion package.
(http://www.novell.com/products/linuxpackages/desktop10/sp2/i386/index_all.html) It may not be the most up to date version on the released media. The subversion package for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server was slated at one point to come out on the SLES SDK media. I have not had a need to investigate whether it actually did or not.

Aside from that, you can install the subversion packages for the
SLES/SLED products from http://software.opensuse.org/search by selecting
your platform and entering the word "subversion".

Frank
