Subversion performing very slowly

Hi!

I noticed this performance issue with my subversion server yesterday and according to the admin, he said subversion was re-indexing itself.

The subversion server details:
Server: Apache/2.2.8 (Win32) DAV/2 SVN/1.5.4 mod_auth_sspi/1.0.4
Size: ~40GB

Where can i find more information about this re-indexing task? Please advice if you know more about this. Thank you in advance.
