Copy over existing file

Hello,

In Unix, if I say "cp file1 file2" where both files exist, file2 is
overwritten with file1. In SVN, I get a message

svn: Path 'file2' is not a directory

I have file2 both in the working copy and the repository, and file1 is
just added.

I assume that this is the intended behavior. However, does the
documentation or help anywhere say so?

Thank you,
Evgeny

P.S. I have SVN version 1.5.1 under Ubuntu.
