I'm not sure what "Server 3000" is... perhaps you are working way in the
future. Did you perhaps mean Win Server 2003?

If so, I haven't seen this. Have you verified that the account which
svnserve service is running as has full permissions to the repository
folder. Also, have you verified your compatriots are using the svn://
protocol and NOT the file:/// protocol?

The repository on the server should not be accessable as a share to
users in order to prevent them from using the file:/// protocol.

Subject: svn 1.5.4 server: some people cannot commit - auth error.

Hello,

We're installing svn 1.5.4 on a new server, migrating 1.4.6 repositories
into it, and accessing it via svnserve as a windows service. I don't
know the version of Windows on that box, but it is either XP Pro or
Server 3000.

We've observed some odd behavior. When I access the repositories, I
have no problem at all. When the other two people tried access it, they
get authorization errors on commit, and they do have the same access as
I. Have any of you observed similar behavior, and found the root cause?

The security is set up for authentication, with an authz file. The
repositories referenced are set up for "* = rw". I defined a single
authz file, referenced by all repositories, and this configuration works
without incident on our current "server" (Win XP Pro desktop) and svn
1.4.6.
