I didn't say a thing about the server.
Just make your clients equivalent versions and you should be fine.
If your Subclipse is marked as using the 1.X.Y Subversion client
library, then make sure your command line client is version 1.X.Y.
That's it. For the most part, your clients are compatible with any
server, but different clients are NOT cross-compatible with each other
on the same workstation. At least not in the same working copy.
