It's been a long time since I used Ruby, and I haven't used Ruby all
that much, but isn't there a tool used to install modules inside of
Ruby?

I believe the installer is called GEMS in Ruby. You should install
your module using GEMS: <http://www.rubygems.org/read/book/2>
