svn: Found malformed header in revision file

Dear Friends,
    I am new to SVN server. I compiled the svn server 1.4.6 with
apr-0.9.17 and apr-util-0.9.15.
I have create the repository by giving the following command
         *svnadmin create repos
*I tried to import the source code using the below command, but i am
getting the following error
          *svn import -m "testing" test/ file:///repos/test
*svn: Found malformed header in revision file

Inside the test folder, the following files i have /test.c and README/
*
*Plz help me what does the error svn: Found malformed header in revision
file??? means and how to solve it...
