It is a construct of my own. The version I'd send to the group was without too many echo's and redirects in it, just to keep it short. It is based on INSTALL.txt and some batch files that comes with the source. Those batchfiles are based upon VC6 and I can't use them.

Correct, the path is Microsoft Visual Studio 8 but the startup message tells me it is VS2005. I have installed VS2005 and I don't know where the 'Microsoft Visual Studio 8' path name is comming from.

It does generate a few object and one log file (in the Release directory) As far as I know it only has some linker details in it. (I will check it tomorow morning, first thing.)
