Upgrade svnserve

I plan to upgrade svn from 1.2 to 1.4. All the clients, and svnserve.

Is there any special consideration in changing svnserve? Just stop the old one and start the new one?

If I understand right, the 1.4 client will automatically upgrade the working copy in-place, and we should never attempt svn 1.2 client on that WC again. Right?
