Problem importing large amount of data

Hi. I have used svn for the last year or so. Everything has worked fine, but
now I have to move my repository to another server. I made an export of the
entire repository and then tried to import it into the new one. Things start
out well but after a couple of minutes things starts to slow down more and
more until it finally ends with an error message. I'm really sorry to say I
didn't save the error message.

The size of the entire export is very big, about 10GB, but I've tried to
import much smaller chunks and things start slowing down already below
100MB.
