Yes, unfortunately they require a binding "evaluation license" before
they offer a 45 day evaluation, and our legal department went into
conniptions when we asked who needs to sign. It is now somewhere in the
bureaucratic void "being reviewed". That happened late August. No word
yet. I think it is safe to say that Perforce is not an option.

I can't blame this very large company for being extremely cautious about
any agreements, but it is rather annoying. Too bad Perforce isn't
willing to skip that contract. We're down to Surround and Subversion.
Based on my observations described earlier, I expect Surround will be
the winner, but I'm going through the motions right to the end. In
fact, I'm going to start a new thread and ask some opinions of a couple
of SCM features.
