The SVN read-bean book recommends not using network shares, even for FSFS.
See chapter 6 (Server Configuration) -> Choosing a Server Configuration ->
Recommendations.

 

Running with scissors doesn't *necessarily* result in a painful accident, so
as long as it's a risk you're willing to take, run like the wind!
