svn: No repository found

Hi,

I am trying to check out from subversion using this command:
 svn co svn://67.123.51.1/repositories/sample
but I get this error:
svn: No repository found in 'svn://67.123.51.1/repositories/sample'

But when I telnet to 67.123.51.1, there is a directory in
/srv/svn/repositories/sample.

Can you please tell me what am I missing?

Thank you.
