SVN and self-signed certs

I have a question about accessing https based repo's using the Apache
module.

My server currently has a self-signed certificate. I'd like to run some
automated tasks that
won't be prompted and warned about the certificate. Is there anyway to tell
the svn client
ahead of time (something in .subversion perhaps) to go ahead and trust a
specific certificate?

I release this kind of defeats the point of certificate based
authentication. Eventually, things
would be upgraded to using real signed certificates that could be checked
with an authority.
