svn: OPTIONS request failed

Hi all,

I am having trouble with a repo which has been working very well for
months now. Suddenly I got an error during a commit.

Could not read status line:

After this error I could not use svnlook on the server on the repo. I
finally did a svnadmin recover after shutting down apache2. It
recovered in less than a second and I am able to see the repo using
svnlook. However when I try to commit I still get...

svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: OPTIONS request failed on '/path/to/trunk'

I googled and searched the list but nothing seems to standout as a
solution. I would very much appreciate any help on this....plllleaase.
This is my production server. Thank you,

bakki kudva
