Johan,

In my Fedora Core 5 system, I have multiple versions of Subversion
installed in different paths and until now, I have not faced any
problems now, but a word of caution ;

I have setup my repository using V1.4.2, hence further changes /
access with this repository, I do using commands from the path where
Subversion v1.4.2 is installed and not using SVN commands from the
other version.

It should be possible to have multiple versions in Debian too. I
cannot verify this as I do not have Debian but as you will be
compiling from sources, you can specify the install location
(different from the default) using the "--prefix" and "--exec-prefix"
flags for configure script.

And now for some shameless self-promotion :-P
