My reason for wanting it. There have been times when I have needed to
remove something from the repo (sensitive info or on rare occasions
major accidents that increase the repo size more than I like). This
shifts revision numbers. This really messes things up when I sometimes
need to record the revisions numbers I merged some changes from in the
commit log. There are times when you only need parts of a branch
merged. If I could use a label name instead of a revision number it
would move to the new revision number automatically.
