repository DB upgrade

From: marc gonzalez-carnicer <carnicer.lists_at_gmail.com>

i posted in another thread about my problems upgrading
a repository

http://svn.haxx.se/users/archive-2006-09/1569.shtml

i am told that it seems the problem is not due to a svn
version backwards incompatibility, but to using different
DBs.

the svn book only seems to talk about upgrading a
repository using svnadmin dump / load, but as can
be seen in the above thread, this does not work.

i get this output

marc@nanna$ svnadmin dump wygccash >/tmp/wygccash.dump
svnadmin: Berkeley DB error for filesystem wygccash/db while opening
environment:
DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatch
svnadmin: bdb: Program version 4.3 doesn't match environment version

the book info about upgrading is limited to :

http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.2/svn-book.html#svn.reposadmin.maint.recovery

isn't this an important or non-obvious issue? seems not,
but i can't find documentation on how to upgrade my
repository DB, and no one replied to my question on
the previous thread.

fyi, this has been caused by upgrading from kubuntu 5.10
to kubuntu 6.06.1
