commit-email.pl defaults to smtp_server & misses date

         Just upgraded to subversion 1.4.0 and noticed that commit-email.pl
         now defaults to $smtp_server rather than $sendmail. Not a problem,
         except that it doesn't include a 'Date:' header, and Net::SMTP
         doesn't add one, while if using $sendmail 'sendmail -f' will
         add one.

         Is anyone else seeing the same behaviour?
