It just adds unnessesary noise and will neither help you nor make anyone feel sympathetic - it's more like taking all readers of this list hostage because the listadmin program does not seem to work for you. I'm even less sympathetic to your cause as from my email account subscribing as well as unsubscribing works perfectly well (it's a bit slow, but that's nitpicking).

There have been a couple of reports lately and possible causes have been named, among them spam filters that filter out the nessesary confirmation mail, these mails should be in the archive as well. Otherwise the site FAQ on http://subversion.tigris.org names a mail address where "all questions and comments" should be directed.
FWIW, I actually unsubscribed him from the list yesterday.
