Locks, hooks, conf received from svn update...

Hi,

I just installed svn and created a repository. (I'm using svnserve)
I committed some files, and that was no problem.
However, when I did an update later on, I also got the following
directories from the server:

conf
dav
db
hooks
locks

Those directories are internal to the repository, right?
How come they are suddenly under unintentional version control?
