Firstly, thanks for help everyone.

Back to questions:

What happens before the black screen?
One of the administrator tried the following,

- Restart the apache, but failed, could not restart it.
- Tried restart the server, black screen came out with a moveable mouse
pointer.
- Some of the network shares on the server stop responding

has this happened before?
Yes, it happened four times already within these few weeks.

What did you do to get it working again?
I need to power recycle in order to make everything back to normal.

I am using a anti-spyware software to scan the server, see whether it
comes out something.

Do I need to post any logs here?

I'm not passionate about linux. I've had my share of problems with it.
I'm just saying linux platform is more suitable for running
apache+subversion configuration because it is in general more stable and
faster.

I recognize the corporate issues because I experienced them too many
times.
