Thanks, but doesn't look like that statement would work in my case
(attempting to replicate a Linux-based subversion repository to a
Windows-based laptop).

One odd thing is that I took a pre-linux version of the FSFS repository, and
diff'd it against the linux one (extracted from its .tar.gz file), and
copied the different files across and it still doesn't work.
