RE: Instal Subversion 1.3.1 on Debian Stable

Sean -

I have a mixed Debian Testing with Subversion 1.3.1-2 added in from
Unstable. It seems to be working correctly over the past few weeks, with
Windows XP Pro clients running svn 1.3.1 & TortoiseSVN as a GUI to
access that Debian SVN repository.

What I noted was that subversion and subversion tools from unstable had
no other dependencies within my installation. I used KPackage with the
'test' install option to verify that. I changed the location of the
Debian repository URLs from 'testing' to 'unstable', updated my cache,
and just selected the two tools - subversion and subversion tools - to
install.

After installation, I then reverted the Debian repository URLs back to
'testing'.

I can't say for sure that this method would work for your Debian
'stable' version; you can do that trial installation with switching
Debian repositories and attempting a 'test' install. Good luck.

Ed.

Has anyone had experience installing Subversion 1.3.1 on Debian
Stable? Did you encounter any problems? Are there a number of deps
that you also have to build from source and install?

Thanks,

Sean
