Re: Need Help Deciding Which Server To Install

Apache and mod_dav. Coupled with the ViewVC add-on for examing logs or pulling down individual files, it means that users need not do checkouts to get individual files or even tarballs, and can actually use WebDAV for direct access to the head of the repository.

Man, that saves work for downloads and file comparisons!

Subject: Need Help Deciding Which Server To Install

To start off I am new to subversion so I am having some difficulty picking which server version to use (Apache + mod_dav_svn or svnserve). So if people can offer a suggestion one way or the other I would appreciate it.

Here is a profile on what I expect from a users connectivity requirement:

  Office Users:
  connect to server over LAN
  use Eclipse IDE
  authenticate to domain through LDAP

  Remote Users:
  connect to server over Internet
  use various IDE's

If more information is required to make a informed suggestion please let me know.
Server: Mac OS X Tiger (10.4)
  Web: Apache/1.3.33 (Darwin)
  SSH: OpenSSH_3.8.1p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7i

And speaking of the Eclipse IDE, I noticed that there are 2 plugins available for it. If anyone can suggest which one to use I would appreciate that as well. (As a side note, Eclipse is currently configured to connect to ClearCase)
