I am not sure why the policy on this list is the way it is,
but it is certainly a good choice. Why lots of mailing lists
decide to set Reply-To: headers pointing to the list (and
thereby munging the one possily set by the author of the mail)
is beyond _my_ understanding.

Just use a email client that supports 'Reply to list' and be
done. If you can't (like me right now), live with the fact
and fix the address manually, or hit Reply to All and live with
the fact that a few people complain about getting a mail twice.

In any case better than manipulating user defined mail headers.
