I must admit, I joined this group because I am evaluating Subversion for my
own use, and I'm happy to see some spirited members.
Personally, I'm interested in Subversion specifically because it avoids the
use of labels. I was a Telelogic CM Synergy administrator for several years
and have now moved on to MKS Source Integrity at work. Labels do not feel
natural to me at all, and I much prefer the way Synergy handles the issue:
project versioning and task-basis. CVS, Perforce and other (commercial)
packages fall short in the realm of baseline establishment routines. I also
have doubts (until I use it for myself) that Subversion could support
a good, rigorous CM Policy, but hten again, I'm not planning to use it in a
corporate or other large-scale environment.
